Spring Cleaning

To celebrate Spring and give back to the WHEELS community, NHS members volunteered their time on Friday, March 22 during a Spring cleaning project.  Teachers signed up in advance and requested NHS members to help out with various tasks.  NHS members washed chalkboards, organized independent reading libraries, filed papers, sorted sports uniforms, and cleaned desks.

Thanks to Sophomore Reyna Moreno who led the project.

Thanks, too, to Ms. McMahon who provided a pizza lunch for the volunteers!

Friday, March 15- Volunteering at Isabella

If you are interested in or planning on volunteering at Isabella this week, please email me so I can pass on your name to the security staff and supervisors at Isabella.  Karen, the usual supervisor, will be out of the office so she needs your names forwarded to those who will be working.

A compliment from Karen for those of you who have volunteered: "The teachers have applauded the efforts of your students and the children love having them."

Keep up the good work!  Great job representing WHEELS NHS!

Tie-Dye Uniform Shirts Fundraiser Update

Just a reminder that the Tie-Dye T-shirts Fundraiser is a major NHS school-wide project.  Please be sure to support this project by buying a shirt!  Paper order forms will be available tomorrow through Thursday during lunch dismissal.

I need FOUR NHS volunteers to take orders during lunch dismissal- 2 students at the fourth floor, 2 students at the second floor.  Please reply to me if you can do this.  We'll meet briefly before period 1 tomorrow to discuss the details.

This is a great opportunity to spread the word about two new, exciting organizations at WHEELS- National Honor Society and Habitat for Humanity.  E.G. "Help WHEELS National Honor Society support Habitat for Humanity!"

This Friday, NHS will meet in Ms. McMahon's room to tie-dye t-shirts.  Please spread the word!
